1/16 slash help

Post  Black on Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:11 am

My sons slash quit on him. servos work but the motor just wont go. every thing turns fine but no go. I've never had an electric motor die on in all my years of RC. I've read the the stock brushed motors on my sons slash is crap. Is it the motor or the speed controller? Any help would be great.

Thanks

So I am guessing since you said "brushed" its a XL2.5 and 380 right? I would try a could things to make sure what you are looking at...

First off pull the wire off the receiver for the servo... then try the motor again... if that doesnt work you can replace it... next I would check on the Traxxas receiver for where the throttle knob is... on a XL5/12T if it is too far in either direction when you start out it causes errors on the ESC and the motor wont run... from there you can always try hooking a spare motor up if you have one lying around and see if it does anything...

turns out he cooked the motor. so got him a new one at Science and hobby. First time there. Good place nice people. picked up a heat sink for the motor. maybe this time my son will listen to me and not over heat the motor.
